If you live in Portland you may have been here http://www.zfabric.com/? I stopped in yesterday afternoon after a nice walk on the Eastern Prom and fell in love immediately. They have been open about a year (the same time I moved out of the neighborhood) and are growing as a business. They offer great fabrics that you just can't find at the commercial fabric store and it's supporting our local economy. I would show you what I bought but I'm making wedding presents for the weddings that we went to in September.
